Why Play BCIFirst and foremost, BCI believes in every player. That is why we have stated in our rules that every player plays. Being on a team is not enough. BCI believes that all players make up the team and all players should play. Being at a national tournament and receiving playing time can make a major impact in a player’s personal confidence. Second, we take our standard of conduct for coaches, players, parents and families of players seriously. We believe the atmosphere in which young people are surrounded should be a positive sportsmanship environment. This code of conduct protects the players, coaches and referees dignity and maintains a mutual respect among all participants and fans. Third, BCI upholds a Safekids Program. This further protects the players in our tournaments. BCI makes every reasonable effort to ensure that every person involved in coaching/training are clear of any child abuse/molestation history or any other record that would bring unnecessary risk to the health and safety of the participants. Each coach at our national tournament must also be registered with the NCAA. BCI sets the goal high for youth basketball play. We are proud of our history and the impact we have been afforded, but also looking to an ever changing world and providing the structure of character building through the medium of basketball. We hope you will find our tournaments second to none. |
